This is just a quick note to remind everyone that as the CBOT website was decommissioned July 31, 2009. What that means in the very immediate term is that any CBOT link you had now takes you to the main CME home page. If you do a search for anything CBOT in google, it will still pull up links to those pages. However, unless you click on the cached version of the pages, you will be redirected to the CME.
Hopefully, the CME will keep working to transition the content because the CBOT site had a lot of great educational material, especially related to Market Profile. Though I need to spend some more time with the CME site, they do already have a couple of Market Profile related offerings:
Market Profile Trading Strategies – An excellent video presentation by Daniel Gramza. It runs about 90-minutes and is well worth the time
Technical Analysis: Market Profile - An interactive overview of Market Profile, including origins, the math behind the profile, and examples of applying Market Profile in a few markets
The CME does require you to register to view these archived pages, but registration is free and access to the material is immediate (i.e. you don’t have to wait for them to send you a link or do anything else to access the pages).
Oddly enough, one CBOT link that does still work is for Jim Dalton’s free webinar, Anatomy of the Market Profile. Anatomy of the Market Profile is currently available here. That’s a good thing, because this is a great presentation, definitely one to watch. Also, register to download an article Jim wrote on timeframes, Sorting Out the Timeframes: The Continuing Quest for Control. It only takes a few seconds to register and it’s completely free.
I’ll keep poking around the CME’s site and posting relevant links here.
What are some CME links you find useful?
